Weekly Photo Challenge: Fresh

22 Jul

It is the time of year that we can step out our door and get ensnared in blackberry plants. Most of the time I have great amounts of disdain for these plants that are over taking our neighborhood and yard. I have tried citing, pulling, spraying with vinegar, and every method I can think of to stop or at least slow their take over, but alas they come back three times as big as before every single time.

However, for a week or two near the end of July these weeds grace themselves with amazing sweet and tart fruit. Fresh berries: summer at it’s best.

So I move carefully through the bushes picking the fresh berries so that we can get a taste of these blackberries before the short harvest season is over.
