Salem Oregon Cherry Blossoms 2015

Salem Oregon Cherry Blossom Trees

Salem Oregon Gold Man with Cherry BlossomsLast weekend the kids and I made the trip to Salem, Oregon to see the cherry blossoms (and of course Grandma). The cherry blossoms at the capitol were in full bloom and at their peak. So despite the heavy rain we got out our umbrellas and enjoyed them for a bit before heading to the Children’s Museum to be inside.

I think these three photographs of the cherry blossoms show both the theme for last week’s photography challenge of wall and for the first day of spring. They create such a thick canopy of blooms that in certain areas it looks like there is a wall of them in front of you.

I leave you with this quote about spring that perfectly fits my photographer sentiment.

“The front door to springtime is a photographers best friends.” Terri Guillemets

Gorgeous! Your cherry blossoms are blooming earlier than ours in the east. I especially love the light feeling of the first image.

Thank you, yes we have had a very early spring here. It is beautiful, but our mountains could really use some of the snow the east coast has had.

These photos are beautiful Emilia. The blossoms here in Vancouver have been equally sensational this year. We have been so lucky here on the west coast with our weather. Best wishes πŸ™‚
