The Bee’s Dance, a Lavender Photograph

18 Mar

This is my last post to reveal my new photographs available for sale that are up in my newest spring collection of lavender centric photographs. I saved my photograph of this bee dancing around the lavender for last because it happens to be my favorite capture in this collection.

Purchase here at Fine Art America

I spent the majority of my time chasing this bee, and a few others, around the lavender bushes to try and get a photograph of it getting nectar. The bees dance around the lavender so quickly that they are difficult to get into focus, and this day was abnormally warm for sunset so they did not seem to be slowing down as they sometimes do as it gets colder.

I find this bee to be beautiful especially with the yellow and orange in contrast to the purple lavender plant. I hope that you will check out my prints available for sale and please share this with your bee and flower loving friends.

Here is a link to the first post and here is one to the second post, but you can see all my photographs for sale currently here.

Weekly Photo Challenge: On the Move

13 May

Hi there. I love the photography challenge this week, it is on the move. I enjoyed photographing some flowers blowing in the wind during a hail storm. I also took photos of the hail and rain, as well as our apple tree blowing in the wind.

I enjoy the abstract quality of these photos.

I have also included some photographs of this really exciting machine that we saw in West Linn. My kids loved watching it and my son really wanted to try it out.

Doesn’t that look like it could be a blast?

I hope you all have a good week.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Inside

19 Mar

This week I am sharing some photos taken with my phone. I have found that seeing flowers on the verge of opening up to the spring weather had been making me feel very happy and like escaping the inside to explore the world outside.

As I have been outside a lot more, with and without my children, I have been capturing the objects of my happiness as I see them revealing what is inside those tight little buds.

So here is my contribution to the challenge inside with a bit of phonography.

This photograph was taken from inside a parking garage in the Pearl district of Portland.

This photograph shows off the buds very nicely as well as the bloom itself now opened to show the inside opened up to the sunshine.

Last, a beautiful pink bloom.

I know a lot of the USA is still covered in snow, or experiencing winter weather, but here in Portland, Oregon my photography is starting to awaken to the spring again.  🙂
