Weekly Photo Challenge: Up

20 Apr

Looking up on a hike on April 7 I caught a view of this woodpecker. It was a bit of a difficult target to photograph because it was darting from tree to tree up it made stop at one near me for a few minutes to peck at the tree.

PDX Kids Calendar: Belmont

17 Oct

The PDX Kids Calendar had a booth at the Belmont Street Fair. Part of the booth includes a dress up area with a photo booth. I volunteered to take the photographs for them a while back. Here are just a few from that day. To see more visit the PDX Kids Calendar website or Facebook page.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Urban

15 Oct

While out at the Portland, Oregon Belmont Street fair to photograph with PDX Kids Calendar I saw people surrounding this large exhibit. It celebrates the creative craft in Portland, Oregon by showing off different ways that people craft in PDX. The sign says Crafted Portland and each letter was made to represent a different craft from locally roasted coffee, to local beer, and even music this was an eclectic group of letters as it should be because Portland is nothing but eclectic in both craft and people.

Sellwood Movie in the Park

7 Aug

Once again I went out and photographed the PDX kids calendar photo booth. It was a lot of fun and the evening was a perfect balance of warmth and clear skies (i.e. no rain and not blistering hot). These families were so cute trying on outfits. I love that so many of the parents were having fun letting their children dress them up.

A couple of weeks ago I went to the Super hero fun run to take photographs of the PDX Kids Calendar booth and got the chance to see all these really awesome families all dressed up and running in their favorite outfits! They are so much cooler than I am but maybe next year I will convince my husband to go with me and run with the kids! This was a lot of fun and you can find more photos at PDX Kids Calendar as well as listings for lots of great activities for the family if you happen to live in the Portland area.
