Orange Photograph Collection: WP Challenge 2

12 Mar photograph of an orange poppy with grey background

Here is a collection of orange photographs from my site over the years. I had fun going back and seeing what I had taken photographs of that featured orange. It was amazing to me how many photographs I had that were dominated by the color orange.

There are photographs from all over the country also: Portland, Neskowin, & Salem, Oregon, Camas & Vancouver, Washington, Maine, and New York.

The photographs include portraits, events, sunsets, landscapes, and of course flowers. 🙂

I hope you enjoy looking back at my collection of orange photographs from the past as much as I did. Have a good week!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Carefree: The Photos From Multnomah Days 2013

23 Aug

Hello everyone I am back from the editing black hole, how I found my way out I am not entirely sure. 🙂

I took quite a few photos last week at Multnomah Days 2013 and want to share just a few with you. I am thinking at least a few of these fit the photo challenge posed last Friday as well which was Carefree. These kids and adults really enjoyed the events in the kids area brought to the Multnomah village with the help of PDX Kids Calendar/Metro-Parents Magazine.

Do-Jump was there to help people get their acrobat selves some play time, along with many musical, story, and puppet performers. (Red Yarn, Olive & Dingo, Penny’s Puppet Production, and Spanish story time with the Portland Early Learning Project)

There were bubbles at the photos booth this year which really got the kids into their carefree moods, they LOVED the bubble machine. I believe a few (or maybe fore than a few) kids stayed and played with the bubbles for at least 20 minutes!

Multnomah Days

15 Aug

Last year I spend quite a few days of the summer doing photography for the PDX Kids Calendar photo booth. This summer they have not done as many, but I will be back with them on Saturday the 17th from 9 to 4. Anyone who would like to can come and get their picture taken at the photo booth and join in the fun at Multnomah Days.

There will be food, music, and fun for everyone so I hope to see some of you there. 🙂 If you don’t live in the area maybe someday you will get to visit the lovely city of Portland or south west Washington.

Weekly Photo Challenge: My 2012 in Pictures

25 Jan

Over the last year I have started a few projects including 2 blogs, this one focused on photography, and one that focuses on parenting, children, and projects to do with families (Blogging with Children). I have also continued to be a stay at home Mom to my two wonderful children. I have also joined the worlds of Instagram and Twitter (one which I utilize much more than the other, I will give you one guess as to which one that might be).

In starting up this blog I also offered to do photography for a local resource for parents called PDX Kids Calendar. I began going to events here and there and taking photographs of people at their photo booth and doing the crafts there. I got the chance to go on Halloween to the Oregon Zoo to help PDX Kids Calendar celebrate the two tigers birthday (they are sibling tigers). It was rainy and I had my 3 year old with me but it was a lot of fun and tigers are my favorite animal so it was fun to see them.

While I was actively trying to find subjects to photograph for this blog I was also taking snapshot type photos of my everyday life because, well honestly a lot of the time that is about all that my sometimes chaotic life can handle. 🙂

So here are some of the photos that I feel embody MY 2012 these are going to mostly be snap shot type photos. 🙂

PDX Kids Calendar: Belmont

17 Oct

The PDX Kids Calendar had a booth at the Belmont Street Fair. Part of the booth includes a dress up area with a photo booth. I volunteered to take the photographs for them a while back. Here are just a few from that day. To see more visit the PDX Kids Calendar website or Facebook page.

Sellwood Movie in the Park

7 Aug

Once again I went out and photographed the PDX kids calendar photo booth. It was a lot of fun and the evening was a perfect balance of warmth and clear skies (i.e. no rain and not blistering hot). These families were so cute trying on outfits. I love that so many of the parents were having fun letting their children dress them up.

Super Hero Fun Run: PDX

A couple of weeks ago I went to the Super hero fun run to take photographs of the PDX Kids Calendar booth and got the chance to see all these really awesome families all dressed up and running in their favorite outfits! They are so much cooler than I am but maybe next year I will convince my husband to go with me and run with the kids! This was a lot of fun and you can find more photos at PDX Kids Calendar as well as listings for lots of great activities for the family if you happen to live in the Portland area.

Super Hero Fun Run: Preview

19 Jul

This last weekend I had the pleasure of doing photography for PDX Kids Calendar. They are a great resource for families looking for all of the kid friendly happenings in the Portland area. They had a very fun booth set up for kids to do crafts and take photos at during this Super Hero Fun run.

I took tons of photos of the booth and activities they had set up. During the down time I was able to capture a few shots of the larger activity, the run.

I love this photo of Batman talking on the megaphone! Funny. He was the main “director” for the run, whenever an announcement had to be made he was the one to make it. He was also there promoting the new Batman movie.

I plan to share photos from the run itself as well as a few of those I took for PDX Kids Calendar so stayed tuned for more.

Sorry for the long interval between now and the last post things have been incredibly hectic around my house! Whew! Hopefully I will get more photos up soon. If you want a preview you can head over to the PDX Calendar site I think there is a link to the the photos I took for them there. 🙂
